Take This.

Take This Logo

Crowds, busy schedules, the excitement of once-a-year events, and other stressors common at conventions can sometimes trigger emotional issues, particularly anxiety and depression.

The Take This AFK Room is a staffed, calm space designed for anyone who feels overwhelmed and needs a quiet place to reset. It is run by local volunteers and mental health clinicians, trained by Take This, to moderate and maintain a supportive atmosphere.

The AFK Room Program is a comprehensive convention wellness initiative operating for both attendees and staff. It consists of programmatic evaluations, volunteer distress intervention training, and the AFK Room itself.

Desert Bus for Hope

Desert Bus for Hope Logo

Founded in 2007 by the internet sketch comedy group LoadingReadyRun, Desert Bus for Hope combines gaming marathons and entertaining challenges to raise funds for children's charities. It is the world's longest-running online charity fundraiser and has raised over $1.2 million for Child's Play.

AnimeLatino is proud to contribute exclusive auction items each year to support Desert Bus for Hope, including signed merchandise, limited edition collectables, and custom items from our featured voice actors and artists. To date, our community's items have raised over $40,000 for charity!

Community Outreach

AnimeLatino is committed to inclusivity. We provide single-day passes to local community groups and youth organizations who otherwise wouldn't be able to experience the convention.

We are honored to partner with metro-area branches of the Boys & Girls Clubs, the Down Syndrome Association, the YMCA, and local youth commissions to foster creativity and passion in the next generation.

Charity Row

In addition to our primary charity partners, AnimeLatino hosts local nonprofit advocacy groups in a dedicated Charity Row within the Exhibit Hall. Featured participants include the 501st Legion (raising funds for the Make-A-Wish Foundation), Extra Life, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, and more.
